U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services regional media representative Marie Therese Sebrecthts told Variety, “Through Friday, November 4, 366 CW1 workers had been sponsored on 198 I-129CW petitions.”
She also reminded employers to submit the I-129CW’s by Nov. 27, 2011 if they plan to have their foreign employees continue working between the time that their umbrella permits expire on November 27 and the CW-1 is approved.
“Otherwise, foreign employees will have to stop working until they receive an approval of their petition,” Sebrechts said.
Based on the early batch of applications, there were a couple of people who filed the I-539 instead of the I-129CW.
She also pointed out that some have completed the items that the USCIS outreach team advised including common mistakes related to signatures and checks.
