Parents get 7 days for disturbing the peace of 9-year-old son

Faustino Litulumar, 22, and his girlfriend Gina Bhagchandani, 37, were each placed on one year probation.

They were separately ordered to pay a $100 fine, a $25 court assessment fee, and a probation fee. They will complete 50 hours of community service.

Litulumar and Bhagchandani were to submit to an examination focusing on anger management/substance abuse at the Community Guidance Center, and will abide by and complete the treatment recommended.

They will not posses or consume alcohol during the probation period, and will not enter any establishment that promotes alcohol. They must not associate with people using or under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.

As part of the plea agreement, the court dismissed, as moved by the prosecution, the charges of two counts of child neglect and one count of disturbing the peace.

Chief Prosecutor Michael Ernest represented the government while the defendants were represented by attorney Mark Hanson and Assistant Public Defender Matthew Meyer.

Detective Catherine Pangelinan said the Department of Public Safety received two calls from the nine-year-old boy on July 5, 2011, and complained that his parents, Litulumar and Bhagchandani, were arguing.

Police said Litulumar and Bhagchandani were drunk at the time.

Last June, the Superior Court separately sentenced Margarita Litulumar, 43, her son Faustino Litulumar, 22, and his girlfriend Gina Bahgchandani, 37, for disturbing the peace.

They were on a drinking spree in Koblerville that turned violent, police said.
