Drinking session results in assault and battery

The relative then called for police for assistance which resulted in the arrest of Julio Litulumar Emangmai, 25.

Emangmai is being held on charges of disturbing the peace, assault and battery, and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Superior Court Judge Perry B. Inos imposed $10,000 bail order on Emangmai who was due to appear in court for his initial appearance and bail hearing yesterday afternoon.

Detective Catherine B. Pangelinan said police recovered a brown wooden stick, believed to have been used in the incident, broken into four pieces.

The victim was rushed to the Commonwealth Health Center for injuries and bruises. The left side of her head was also swollen, police said.

Responding officers found the victim lying down on the ground in front of the defendant’s house.

Investigation showed that prior to the incident, the defendant and the victim were drinking beer and Soju at her mother-in-law’s house in Koblerville.

Emangmai then walked over to his aunt’s house, just north of his mother’s residence, after the drinking session.

The victim followed him and they both started arguing, police said.

Litulumar then slapped the victim repeatedly until she fell to the ground, and he also hit her back several times with a stick, police said.

A relative of the victim told police that she was inside the house cooking dinner when her nephew, the victim’s son, came running into the house, saying: “My dad is spanking my mom.”

The relative said she saw Emangmai hitting the victim on her back with a brown broom stick while she was sitting on the ground.
