Maricel C. Gatdula yesterday appeared before Superior Court Judge Kenneth L. Govendo for her initial appearance and bail hearing.
Govendo allowed Gatdula to post $100 as 10 percent of the $1,000 bail order, and the $900 remainder in unsecured or appearance bond.
She was arrested on the charge of theft.
Gatdula was represented by attorney Rosemond Santos while Assistant Attorney General Shelli Neal represented the government.
Detective Melissa Bauleong said Yasuhiro Ueno, the restaurant owner, reported the theft incident on July 28.
Police said Gatdula admitted purchasing two mobile phones last January, and had been paying their monthly bills using company checks amounting to $2,076.59.
Police said the amount may change since the restaurant is still conducting an inventory.
