This time, the thieves broke the window and left all the doors of the temple open.
Akhil Mollick CNMI Hindu Community assistant secretary, yesterday said the burglars took DVD players and two microphones all worth $280.
Last month, burglars broke the padlock of the temple door before breaking into the worship room and stealing $2,000 from the donation box which had not been opened for three years.
“Our members are now very nervous because they have no assurance that their valuables are safe inside the temple,” he said.
Mollick said they immediately reported the incident to the Department of Public Safety, which is still investigating the previous case.
“I believe they are doing their job,” Mollick said, referring to DPS.
He said he once again requested DPS to also patrol the temple area.
The temple is on Franciso St. adjacent to the Sister Remedios Early Childhood Development Center.
Mollick said the burglars might have entered the temple on Tuesday night.
It was Jay Kumar, a member of the local Hindu community, who noticed that all the doors were open when he passed by on Wednesday morning,
Because of this recent incident, Mollick said one of them may have to stay overnight at the temple.
However, they are still scouting for a person who fits to their belief.
“That person should be vegetarian and don’t have girl friend,” he said.
