Guam’s 2012 District Conference is cosponsored by the Guam Bar Association and the Northern Mariana Islands’ 2012 District Conference is cosponsored by the CNMI Bar Association. In addition, the judiciary of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands judiciary are assisting the federal judiciaries in hosting the conferences.
Chief Judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood of the District Court of Guam and Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona of the District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands are honored to host Sotomayor on her first visit to the islands.
Sotomayor was appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court in 2009 and is the court’s 111th justice, its first Hispanic justice and its third female justice.
