To raise awareness of the campaign, the Department of Public Safety was out in force yesterday afternoon in an extended motorcade on Middle Road that included police cruisers and fire vehicles.
Main messages of the holiday safety campaign include designating a sober driver before celebrations begin, never serve those under the age of 21 alcohol, plan safe parties, including providing non-alcoholic drink options to guests and not serving alcohol the last hour of the gathering and have the telephone number of a taxi service available just in case the need arises.
