Letter to the Editor: Due process

I personally feel that the mayor has his work cut out for him. Although it does not excuse him from what has happened, he is the only mayor that I know of trying to put this dog issue/problem in place.

Mayor Donald Flores did apologize to Mrs. Walker and me and we feel that he was sincere and do regret this whole incident.

Ray Lizama, you are  insensitive and you do not belong on that job. There were a lot of comments made on the media and it does show that people are very sensitive about their pets and you should be as well, unless you do not have a pet.

In this case, you did not allow a 10-day due process period for us to argue our point and save our dogs. Imagine, two hours to just discard one’s pets!

The business was close and there were several signs posted across the property in two languages warning of dogs on duty. It was very unfortunate that Mrs. Sook Kim got bitten and I would like to take this time to apologize. Mrs. Walker and I are very sorry.

Dogs Tato and Little Black — most especially Little Black because she was not involved at all and never had a chance — they were on chains when the incident happened and on chains when they were taken away.

Mr. Lizama you came on a mission to put down the dogs no matter what. You put the mayor and all his hard working staff in a very bad position. But then again to continue complaining makes me no better. Not once did you try to express concern or apologize to Mrs. Walker. You tried instead to defend yourself in front of the Saipan delegation meeting that you were right to put down the dogs. I watched in disbelief how everyone in the meeting was shaking their heads in disbelief as well. Boy, you’re the man! Next time I will put a sign that says “Beware of Ray Lizama.”

To the community, look out for this guy. Be very careful. Your dogs might be next.
