Judge Kenneth L. Govendo allowed Fujihira to be released to his mother as third party custodian.
The court ordered the victim to move out of the victim’s Rota residence.
Assistant Attorney General Nicole Driscoll strongly opposed the defendant’s motion for bail modification, arguing that Fujihira has “displayed a sick and wanton disregard for the safety, peace, and well-being of the victims and possess a significant threat to the safety of the community, particularly his own family.”
The Public Defender’s Office is representing Fujihira.
During the defendant’s initial appearance and bail hearing last week, Govendo retained the $66,000 cash bail imposed on Fujihira.
He is being held on charges of sexual abuse of a minor in the first and second degree, incest, indecent exposure, child abuse, domestic violence, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.
Police received a call on Nov. 3, 2011 from the Division of Youth Services on Saipan regarding an anonymous call from Rota about a possible sexual abuse of a minor case.
