She said she was told that the center has no physician.
A public notice from the Tinian Health Center obtained by Variety yesterday stated:
“This is to inform all patients that due to our physician and nurse practitioner being on sick leave, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding until their return.
“However, we will continue to provide emergency treatment. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
A THC personnel said resident director Raymond Dela Cruz Jr. and his special adviser Freddy Hofschneider were off-island.
But he said the physician and nurse practitioner were on leave “just for today.”
He said they continue to attend to patients in emergency situations.
In a separate interview, Connie Manglona, one of the THC administrative staffers, said “there’s no provider on the floor” yesterday.
But in case of an emergency, she said they can refer the patient to a physician assistant who is “on standby.”
The physician assistant’s contract is still under administrative review, and is thus “on-standby” status, she added.
Mayor Ramon Dela Cruz was already out of his office when Variety called to ask for his comment.
