Turkey Walk, Smoke out and Diabetes Prevention awareness events on Saturday

Ayuda Network Inc. administrative assistant Valerie I. Deleon Guerrero said they will be hosting the “11th Annual Don’t Be A Turkey…WALK! Day” with the “Great Marianas Smoke Out” and the “Diabetes Prevention Awareness” events.

The Great Marianas Smoke Out is a day when all smokers are encouraged to either quit smoking, or make a plan to do so.

“The event will start from 5 a.m. and end at 12 noon, and we encourage families to bring their children as there will be more activities for them to enjoy and participate in,” Deleon Guerrero said.

The   three events were usually held separately each year.

“This is the first time we decided to lump the events together to cut on funds, and to make the event really worthwhile and not-to-be-missed,” Deleon Guerrero said.

Deleon Guerrero said  they won’t be charging registration fees this time.

“In the past years, we always ask for registration fees but not this time. We know that times are hard, and we just want the people to join the fun and participate in the health and wellness campaign,” she said.

Deleon Guerrero said  they will be giving out free t-shirts to the first 200 participants to register, as well as children’s books, bouncing balls, swimming noodles and other gifts.

The talented children of Uncle Ben’s Studio will provide entertainment.
