Family of missing girls searches jungle, caves

“We are waiting for other family members to arrive from their search. We will discuss our next plan,” said Anicia Q. Tomokane, the missing girls’ grand-aunt, in an interview with Variety.

She said they continue holding prayers three times a day at their family residence in As Teo.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, together with the Department of Public Safety, continued its search at the Marpi landfill.

There are 40 federal and local authorities searching the landfill, FBI Honolulu media relations coordinator and special agent Tom Simon told Variety.

“We are moving faster. We’re having good progress,” he added.

Simon said they earlier estimated  to complete their search at the landfill between six and seven days, but “we are now looking between three and four days.”

Simon thanked DPS for sending personnel from the fire division.

“Our search and investigation continues. We have not downgraded our resources,” DPS acting spokesman and Crime Stoppers coordinator PO2 Jason Tarkong told Variety.
