Last Sunday, “Pistang Pinoy” at the Civic Center in Susupe drew many people from various ethnicities.
Supporters of the event included the business community and the CNMI government.
“I firmly encourage all of our officers and leaders of member organizations to put our organizations back to work and promote the spirit of volunteerism and community service,” said UFO president Romeo “Bong” Malasarte in his remarks during the opening of Pistang Pinoy.
Despite the crisis, Malasarte said they can always overcome challenges “if we work as one united team.”
He thanked all UFO officers, member organizations and sponsors including IT&E, Marpac, Western Union, Coke and Tan Holdings.
Former UFO president Olive Yana said the event was “very successful and the program was fully loaded with volunteers” who shared their musical and other talents with the community.
