Cop arrested for domestic violence remanded to custody

Govendo ordered the Adult Probation Office to conduct an assessment on Seman’s eligibility for a court-appointed defense attorney.

In his affidavit of probable cause, Detective Peter Aldan said the incident occurred at the defendant’s residence in Dandan on Saturday night.

Aldan said the victim arrived home from work at about 6:20 p.m., and heard her children crying in the living room.

The victim said she saw Seman sleeping on the couch.

Seman had bloodshot eyes and the victim saw an empty Soju bottle and beer in the kitchen, the victim said.

“I’m tired because I drink,” Seman was quoted as telling his wife.

The victim later saw her husband carrying their two children while walking outside their residence.

When she caught up with him and tried to take the children from the defendant’s arms,  she said Seman slapped and kicked her thigh.

The victim said she was scared as she grabbed her children and ran away from Seman. The victim went to a neighbor’s house where she called 911.

Responding police officers Israel De Leon and Jeffrey Bahillo saw Seman in front of Jin Store, also in Dandan, at about 10:26 p.m.

Police said Seman reeked of alcohol, could not stand up straight and was losing his balance.

Officer Juan Mendiola also arrived at the store, and asked Seman why he didn’t work that night.

Seman replied that he called in to say he was not coming and had a family problem.

Seman admitted hitting his wife “but did not mention exactly where he hit her,” Aldan said.
