Angels soar to Major League finals

The D-9ers held on with a four-run seventh inning before landing their last run from John Tenorio.

The Angels now await the winner between the Tan Holdings Brewers and Shell Fielders.

A solid offensive from the D-9ers handed Dung Tenorio and Dave Camacho only four strikeouts in nine innings but that was no problem to Iguel, who struck a run-scoring triple to lift the Angels, 5-1.

Right Fielder Thomas Joab hit a sacrifice fly to send Pete Tomokane home in the fifth inning. Fred Kaipat bagged an RBI single one batter later.

After losing their first semifinal game on Monday, the D-9ers couldn’t afford to fall. EJ Tenorio sparked their four-run spree in the bottom of the seventh with two RBI from J. Sablan and Robert Lizama.

The Angels sealed the match on Cliffton Silil and Marvin Kaipat’s runs and a sacrifice fly from Tomokane in the top of the eighth.

Sablan reached the scoring position to revive the D-9ers but Jarred Camacho scored the third out on a fielder’s choice.

Results from last night’s game between the Brewers and Fielders weren’t available during press time. The Brewers won game one of their best-of-three semifinal series last Tuesday.
