Storytelling on Guam this weekend

The event will take place at the UOG CLASS Lecture Hall, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.

The program will feature true stories passed down from personal interviews with community elders of their pre-war, wartime, and post-war experiences on Guam and throughout the other Northern Marianas islands.

Some of the stories will be told in Chamorro, English, or both.

Ginen i Hila’ i Maga’taotao Siha Association, which translates to “From the Tongues of the Noble People Association,” is a group that formed in 2004 in preparation of the Festival of Pacific Arts that was held in Palau.

Admission to the event is $10 per person and is open to the public. Local fruit and vegetable plants will be sold during intermission as part of the group’s fundraising efforts.
