Korean artists to perform at Liberation Day festivities

P’Art Music Academy president Jun Ho Park said  the Korean groups will be performing at the Korean Prysbeteran Church in Garapan at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday and at the Liberation activity center at the Garapan Fishing Base at 7 p.m. on Monday.

The Korean Rainbow Little Singers & Vincero Voice Ensemble with its 45 members will perform several numbers at the Korean Presbyterian Church including “This is the Moment,” “Nella Fantasia,” “Happy Days are Here Again,” “Goliath,” “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and other tunes.

The groups will be performing more numbers at the Liberation festivities.

Also performing are the Sangmyung University Nam Jin Hee Modern Dance Company, the Ha Eun Ha & You Young Ju modern dance company, the Kyungmin University Hong Sung Hee Modern Dance Company and the Soback Dance Theater.

Park said every year, these performers from Korea come to Saipan to share their wonderful talents with the local people.

“This performance will be free for everyone on Saipan and I hope that everyone will recognize the beautiful culture of Korea,” Park said.

He added that Saipan Mayor Donald G. Flores helped a lot to prepare for this year’s performances.

Flores said having the performers from Korea can help make the Liberation festivities and parade more exciting and memorable.

“The various traditional and modern dances and music brings a taste of Korean culture to our island, and to witness such a dynamic group of individuals perform with great talent and professionalism means giving our people the opportunity to expand their creativity, technique and skills,” Flores said.
