This is the second time Villagomez will serve on the CPA board since he was confirmed by the 16th Senate on July 19, 2008.
He previously served the commonwealth as senator and as a member of the board of the now defunct Marianas Public Lands Authority.
“I extend my appreciation to the Senate members for confirming me,” Villagomez told reporters.
He said one of his major goals is seeking funding for CPA operations on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.
“On Tinian, we will be working on the renovation of arrival and departure terminals at Tinian’s airport due to engineering and infrastructure problems,” he said.
Apart from the Tinian airport renovation project, Villagomez said CPA is looking for a direct flight from China to Tinian.
The CPA board will be meeting with the mayor of Tinian, Tinian Dynasty, and the Tinian legislative delegation regarding that project as well as CPA operations on the island, he added.
