On Tuesday, one of the school’s benefactors, the Seventh-day Adventist Clinic, increased its yearly donation to $50,000.
Last year, the clinic donated $28,000 and its director Ken Pierson vowed to increase their assistance.
SDA School principal Michael Berglund on Tuesday led 17 students, faculty members and school staff in giving a certificate of appreciation to their sponsor.
Berglund said the clinic “has been very generous enough to continue the program next year.”
He also thanked the clinic staff and personnel for their equal role in making the scholarship program available to the school.
Berglund is hoping that the clinic will continue to provide quality healthcare and education to the community.
In an interview, he said the scholarship program benefits a total of 34 students from kindergarten to 8th grade.
Each student is required to maintain at least an 80 percent grade average.
Beglund said parents are also required to make contributions to the program because the school subsidizes 75 percent only of the tuition of each of the scholar.
Pierson thanked the school leadership for its “wonderful job” in providing education to the community.
He said the clinic is very privileged to provide scholarships to deserving students.
