Judge Manglona remanded Warren Ignacio Santy, 52, to the custody of the Department of Corrections after his initial appearance and bail hearing yesterday afternoon.
Santy was charged with aggravated assault and battery.
The victim broke her right arm, police said.
Detective Catherine Pangelinan said police responded to the Commonwealth Health Center emergency room at around 10:04 p.m., Sunday, where they met the victim.
A witness who accompanied the victim to the hospital told police she and the victim were sitting under the utt at their residence in Chinatown, when the defendant came and “just carried [the victim] up and threw her across the table” causing her to land hard under another table on the concrete floor.
The victim landed face down with her right arm bent, police added.
Earlier, the witness told police their family was having a party when the victim fell asleep on the picnic table.
