The re-opening is available only for a limited time only and rebate vouchers will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis while rebate vouchers lasts.
Because rebate vouchers are limited, the CNMI Division of Energy, in partnership with participating Retailers, will be hosting a one-day only in-store sales promotional events on Saipan, Tinian and Rota.
The program covers three types of qualified energy-efficient Energy Star rated appliances: clothes washers, refrigerators and window type room air-conditioner units.
The new rebate amounts are as follows:
Clothes washers – $500
Refrigerators – $500
Window-type A/C Units – $200
Note: Additional rebate vouchers for Tinian and Rota recipients remain unchanged.
Staff from the CNMI Division Office will be available to assist applicants at the store locations listed below and will only be accepting and processing completed applications. Upon approval and issuance of rebate vouchers, recipients are required to redeem appliance rebate vouchers at the store location they submitted an application. Available rebate vouchers are as follows:
Tinian/Rota/Saipan
Refrigerators – 5/5/1
Clothes Washers – 5/5/0
Window-type A/C – 5/5/9
For individuals on our waitlist for Saipan who have already submitted applications to the CNMI Division of Energy, you will be contacted directly for additional instructions prior to the re-opening on Saipan.
The One-day only in-store sales promotional events are scheduled for the following days:
Rota – 1 day only
Date/ Time: Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 9 a.m.
Location: Ace Hardware (Rota Branch)
Tinian – 1 day only
Date/ Time: Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 9 a.m.
Location: Pacific Home Appliance Store, San Jose, Tinian
Saipan – 1 day only
The launching for Saipan will be announced at a later time.
In addition to the re-opening of the program, our office was also granted approval to reimburse individuals who have purchased qualified appliances the difference of the new rebate amount. In other words, if an individual purchased an appliance with a $300 rebate voucher, that individual will be reimbursed the difference of the new rebate amount of $500 which is $200.
For Tinian and Rota recipients, reimbursement checks will be distributed at the event locations on the dates stated above. For Saipan recipients, reimbursement checks will be distributed once they become available.
In order to receive your reimbursement check, you must present a valid CNMI driver’s license, U.S. passport or any other valid CNMI I.D.
