Marianas High School student Dowen Jocson, who will minor in theater at Saint Louis University, and MHS senior Rochelle Dimapilis, who will take some theater courses at NMC, will each receive $1,000 from TWPI.
“TWPI helps promote lifelong learning through the dramatic arts,” said Harold Easton, TWPI chapter director. “We wish success to Dowen and Rochelle and are happy to have this opportunity to help in their academic pursuits,” he added.
TWPI began its annual scholarship awards in 2005, and this year’s awards bring the total number of student recipients to 10.
The scholarship funds are made available through profits raised from TWPI productions along with funds contributed by the Educational Theatre Association.
TWPI has also received support in the past from Friends of the Arts for its scholarship fund and accepts and appreciates donations into its scholarship fund from any generous donor.
Any student, parent or organization who wants more information about Thespians and the opportunities available to middle and high school students may contact Harold Easton at Marianas High School.
