Angels’ first baseman Benwachi Taisacan went 2-for-3 with one run and a double in the bottom of the sixth.
Elton Santos squeezed in 11 strikeouts and gave up five runs on nine hits in eight innings prior to the Fielders’ collapse.
Jerome Delos Santos scored an RBI single and drove in Jesus Iguel for the Angels’ first run in the bottom of the fifth.
The Fielders — ahead, 2-1 — still had the upper hand thanks tp Ionis Rasa’s run and Shane Mendiola’s run-scoring single. Ryan Ada struck an RBI single in the top of the sixth and John Reyes hit a triple to send Eldred Sanchez home.
Angels’ third baseman Peter Tomokane tied the game, 4-4 with a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh. Marvin Kaipat scored the team’s winning run one inning later.
Both teams capped the regular season with eight wins and two losses. Another tiebreaker game for third and fourth place was played last night between the D-9ers and Tan Holdings Brewers, but results were not available during press time.
Meanwhile, the Masters and Ol’ Aces hold three wins and seven losses each.
Playoffs between the league’s top four teams will start next week.
