Superior Court Associate Judge David Wiseman said the trial of Anna Marie Anson will start on Sept. 6 at 9 a.m.
Assistant Attorney General Shelli Neal is prosecuting the case against Anson who was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace last January.
Police said the beating incident occurred at the couple’s residence in Chalan Kanoa on the early morning hours of Jan. 18.
Detective Peter A. Aldan said the victim was resting at their residence when his wife and her sister arrived.
He woke up and went outside their house where he saw a man. The husband asked the man what he was doing in their residence.
The man told the husband he was with the two female friends of his wife.
The husband then invited the man inside their house but the man refused saying he was waiting for a cab.
The husband then went back to sleep but his wife followed him to the room and accused him of scaring her friend.
Not wanting to argue, the victim went to their kitchen where his wife followed him. Police said she started throwing their refrigerator, TV, fan and chairs at her husband.
Anson then punched the victim on his left eye with her right fist, police added.
The husband walked out of their house but his wife still followed him and beat him with a piece of lumber, police said.
“Anna Marie then walked into the shop and threw a fan on the ground and spilled paint on the floor. Anna Marie then grabbed a metal chair and started hitting and smashing the windshield of [her husband’s] truck — a 1989 Mazda pickup truck…. Anna Marie also damaged the driver’s window of a white Toyota Tercel that her husband was still fixing in the shop,” Aldan said.
Anson then fled the house and was later arrested near Holiday Market in Chalan Kanoa.
