Superior Court Associate Judge Inos sentenced him to six months in jail, all suspended except for two days already served.
He also has to pay mandatory fees, complete 100 hours of community service and an anger management therapy at the Community Guidance Center within 72 hours.
He has to submit to an alcohol and drug test at the center.
He will be placed on probation for two years and will write a letter of apology to his victim.
The prosecution earlier charged Fernandez of disturbing the peace, assault and battery and criminal mischief for damaging his girlfriend’s car and grabbing her arm causing a scratch mark on her upper right arm.
