My Wave On-Stage registration still open

“MY WAVE On-Stage” is slated for April 23,  and will give cash prizes to all participating schools for a live performance expressing two related themes: “Tourism is Everybody’s Business” and MY WAVE: Marianas Youth Welcome All Visitors Enthusiastically.

“The partners of MTEC have spent the last two months visiting junior and senior high schools on island to educate students on the importance of tourism and get them excited about what role they can play in supporting the Northern Marianas’ main industry,” said MTEC chairwoman Vicky Benavente.  “‘MY WAVE On-stage’ is going to be their opportunity to express what they feel about tourism, whether through skits, musical compositions, or other presentations.”

Groups of at least five students will have up to 10 minutes to perform.  Performances will be judged based on Best Theme Presentation, Best Stage Visuals, and Audience Impact.  The event will be held at the multi-purpose building in Susupe.

Cash prizes for schools are $500 for 1st place, $400 for 2nd place, $300 for 3rd place, and $100 for all other participating schools.  The winner of the event will also be invited to perform during May Tourism Month’s Taste of the Marianas International Food Festival at American Memorial Park.
