PTC stays unbeaten in Miller Lite caging

Melvin Capalad led PTC with 27 points, scoring 13 in the second half. Bon Tamayo tallied 10 points, Alex Lauron and Aba Tagle added eight each, and Jerome Reyes earned six.

Capalad hammered one three-pointer halfway through the first period, two more down the second, and swept Cellular Pro’s defense with a couple steals.

Pacific Trading Company took a 39-28 lead from the first half with an early-game rush from Zack Babauta and Capalad.

Cellular Pro’s Peter Lizama and Joe Villacrusis scored 17 and 15 points, respectively. Dick Tibayan scored nine while Jason Bahillo and Eric Dulfo totaled seven each.

Both Lauron and Capalad capped the fourth quarter with last-minute free throws, along with two layups from Tagle.

PTC — now with five wins—will face Hanwa Hotel and Resort on Sunday, May 8.

Inchcape 68, Soul Jazz 66

Inchcape recovered on Jun Pantaleon’s 21 points and Kae Bernardo’s 20 to edge team Soul Jazz, 68-66 in an earlier game.

Team Inchcape and their faltering offense mustered only four points in the second quarter, but that didn’t stop them from piling 46 more points in the second half.

Pantaleon and Bernardo nearly tied the scores with a combined 21 points in the third quarter.

Soul Jazz, ahead by 10 points in the second quarter, failed to secure the game even with a string of three-pointers from Jessie Mina and Perry Inos.

Both Pantaleon and Ferdie Tobias shot three-pointers in the fourth quarter as Inchcape drew the final basket in the last 45 seconds. Bart Demapan tallied seven points, Ferdie Tobias scored three, Ginang earned two, and Noel Ligaspi added one.

Team Hanwa Hotel and Resort came in full force and picked off an easy 82-62 win against the Triple J-Sandy Homes on Friday.

Wowie Abuel led the pack with 25 points while Dennis Vinas scored 12 and Banjo Basila piled eight.

Hanwa Hotel held strong with a 26-15 lead in the first quarter and pulled away at 63-42 by the second half.

Triple J succumbed to its 20-point deficit as Teddy Bugay and Andy Viola settled with 17 and seven points, respectively.

Abuel shot three three-pointers and landed 17 points in the first half alone. Teammates Jam Navarro tallied seven points, Nards Ramos and Julius Tabamo scored six apiece, and Jaime Wabinga scored four.
