Based on his latest assessment of Fitial’s spine, Dr. Jeffrey Wang, executive director of the UCLA Comprehensive Spine Center, opted to place the governor on medication and physical therapy for up to 90 days. Following the 90-day period, another MRI will be ordered to determine whether or not spinal surgery will still be necessary.

Fitial is hopeful that the prescribed medication and physical therapy will be able to decompress his inflamed and tight lumbar #4 and #5. Due to the inflammation, the governor was experiencing difficulty and challenges in his mobility.
