Tsunami warning canceled

In accordance with the NWS cancellation, Acting Governor Eloy S. Inos has issued a TSUNAMI WARNING CANCELLATION for the Northern Mariana Islands.

Boaters and ocean recreation users are advised to exercise caution as ocean conditions may still be affected by strong currents.

Residents who have evacuated to higher grounds are further advised to exercise extra precautionary measures as they return to their residence due to increased traffic activity that may arise as a result of this cancellation.

“I would like to thank the general public for their understanding and cooperation during this period and also like to recognize the members of the Response Alert Coordinators team for their effort and participation in ensuring that everyone in the Commonwealth was properly safeguarded,” said Acting Governor Inos.
