The musical whose lyrics and book were written by Joe DiPetro will be directed by FOA’s Susan Fishman-Tudor. Linda Wingenbach is the assistant director.
Music director Paul Dujua said the cast of the play includes himself, Keneisha Parks, Kimberly Parks, Roseanna Sablan, Carlane Castro, Wincel Bubos, Darren Cajipo, Wilden Mangahis, Jerry Loyola, Ruth Delemos Loyola, Meredith Callan, and Leo Goode Jr.
“I Love you, You’re Perfect, Now Change” is the second-longest running Off Broadway musical and has been nominated for the Outer Critics Circle Award as Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical in 1997. The show has received wide international acclaim, translated in 13 languages and performed in other parts of the world like China, Taiwan, Turkey and other places
The play deals with “everything you have ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws, but were afraid to admit.”
The journey from dating and waiting to love and marriage, and the agonies and triumphs of in-laws and newborns, trips in the family car and pick-up techniques of the geriatric set will be portrayed in a series of vignettes in two acts.
Line producer is Andrew Golden, art director is Wesley Foster and set director is Harold Easton.
The shows on Feb. 11 and 12 start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for non-FOA members, $12 for FOA adult members, and $10 for students.
The show on Feb. 14 starts at 7:30. Tickets are $33 for non-FOA adults, $30 for FOA adult members and $28 for students. This includes a dinner buffet at the Magellan Restaurant, and a chance to win a room night at the PIC.
“I Love you, You’re Perfect, Now Change” is presented through a special arrangement with R&H Theatricals.
