Board Chairman Juan T. Lizama said the interviews are taking place and are expected to be completed today.
He said all members of the board are taking part in the interview process.
The other regents are Andrew Orsini, Frank Rabauliman, Maria “Malua” T. Peter and Elaine Hocog-Orilla.
In the next few days, the board is expected to meet to announce the result of its deliberations.
“The exact date, along with the agenda, will be announced publicly. This information will also be posted on the NMC website at www.nmcnet.edu,” Lizama told Variety in an email interview.
When asked if the board has already made a choice, Lizama said: “The selection of NMC’s president remains one of our most important priorities.”
He added, “The board members are doing everything possible to ensure that the search process progresses in a swift but careful manner.”
He said the board is committed to finding the best president for the college.
The board will continue to collaborate with the presidential search committee headed by Orsini, Lizama added.
“We are extremely thankful for the time and effort that the members of the presidential search committee have invested into the search process,” he said.
According to Lizama, the committee has spent a great deal of time reviewing and examining the applicants’ backgrounds and professional experience.
