SASC to host bike clinic

The SASC would like to help new riders learn some helpful techniques on riding the great trails of Saipan via the clinic. The cost will be $15 for non-SASC members and $10 for members.

All proceeds from this SASC event will be donated to Taga Inc., the organization responsible for bringing great events such as Tagaman and Xterra.

This is a great way to learn new biking skills while supporting the growth of the sport.

The bike clinic is aimed towards bikers who have taken up biking in the past year; but, everyone is welcome.  Top bikers will instruct students on trail skills, going uphill, downhill riding, cornering, shifting, braking, fixing flat tires and other basic maintenance, and Saipan riding tips. Students will practice their skills with instructors on the Kimikaze and Autobahn trails.

To be a good mountain bike rider, one must have technical skills and know how to ride trails.  This clinic is the only school in the CNMI where these skills are taught.  Come to the clinic and get the key to opening up the outdoors to your bike.

The clinic will start on the Bird Island Road where the Kimikaze and Autobahn trails cross the road, on your way to Bird Island.  Persons who wish to take the clinic must show up at7:30 a.m. to enroll.  Please bring your bike, a helmet, and water.  As a liability waiver must be signed, minors must show up with a parent to co-sign.

“The NMITF has sponsored bike clinics for the past two years and many of the active CNMI riders have attended a clinic.  These clinics are held only once per year, so do not let this opportunity pass by!  We hope to see you at the clinic.” claimed Russ Quinn.

Put all of the tips and tricks you pick up on Saturday to use on Sunday for your chance to win cash and prizes! Included in the list of prizes is a brand new mountain bike and free entries into the XTERRA Saipan Championship and XTERRA Sport!
