The Ray’s started strong with two runs from Jay Kalen and JD Delos Santos at the top of the first inning. Kalen reached both the scoring position and the home plate on Cedric’s wild pitches.
Santos ran to second and third base on two pass balls before being sent home by JJ Taisacan’s single.
The Enforcers wasted no time at the bottom of the first and stormed for a 5-2 lead. JPO’s lead-off batter Shakobe R. struck a single, reached the third base via pass ball, and headed home with Lizama Henry on Cedric’s triple. Cedric finished the next three runs with third baseman Kler A. and left fielder Leo Williams.
Cedric swiftly struck out Jester Taitano and Jess Corpic to end the top of the second.
Cedric reached first base on a fielder’s choice by the bottom of the second inning and stole his way to home plate. An error from Rays’ first baseman N-Nes helped Williams score another run.
The Ray’s were still behind, 13-8 by the top of the fifth and needed five runs to survive the sixth inning. Corpic hit a lucky triple and headed home for his second run.
Thanks to their big lead, the Enforcers no longer needed to play the bottom of the sixth inning.
The junior division’s Kagman Lions also defeated team Jets, 5-4 last Saturday at the Francisco ‘Tan Ko’ Palacios Baseball Field.
