Priebus was pleased to discuss the CNMI’s pressing matters to gain a better understanding of the needs and challenges of the government and the community.
Priebus had been in constant contact with Fitial even before he won the chairmanship of the RNC.
He informed the governor that in his capacity as chairman, he will seek ways to extend assistance to the Northern Marianas.
For his part, Fitial specifically sought Priebus’ assistance in rebuilding economic growth in the CNMI. He also requested the RNC’s assistance to work with the Republican members of the U.S. Congress to revisit the impact of federalization of immigration control in the commonwealth.
