In the boys’ 18-and-under division, MP United defeated Paire Football Club, 4-2. MP United’s Paul Yoon scored the first goal in the 19th minute, followed by another from Hunter Thorpe (46th minute).
Paire fought back, using a swift offensive to reach the net. Eric Atalig and Mason Fruit landed two points, but were unable to take the lead.
Yoon’s late-game surge earned MP United two more goals in the 69th and 77th minutes.
Paire FC, falling back to defend, had no time to recover by the second half.
Matansa Football Club conquered Independent Football Club, 4-2 in a following game.
MP United’s 15U squad defeated Paire FC, 5-3, while Matansa crushed Shirley’s Football Club, 7-0.
Games in the girls’ 15U division also kicked off at Hopwood Junior High School.
