Right fielder Kimo William hit an RBI single at the bottom of the second, driving Leonard Sablan home and giving the Aces a 1-0 lead.
The Lions responded with two runs from Mark Sanchez and Alfred Manglona at the top of the third.
Ol’ Aces’ short stop Eli Aughenbaugh tied the game after hitting a sacrifice fly, sending Jesse Yamagishi home from the scoring position. JT Taitano followed with another RBI single at the bottom of the fourth, boosting the Aces ahead. Yamagishi struck a single before making his second run via error. Harry Nakamura – who switched from third baseman to pitcher – scored the Aces’ fifth run on another error.
Both Nakamura and Sablan struck out nine, allowing only two hits.
Fielders 13, Hunters 2
Meanwhile, the IT&E Fielders demolished team JC Marketing Hunters last Monday.
The Fielders won 13-5, ending the game at the bottom of the fifth via mercy rule. Third baseman Kevin Villagomez went 2-for-4 with four runs, two hits, and a stolen base to keep the Hunters away. Second baseman Mike Tenorio went 1-for-4 with three runs, one hit, two base-on-balls, and one stolen base.
Marvin Ngeskebei lifted the Fielders with two RBI singles at the top of the first inning, sending Tenorio and Juan Maratita home.
Villagomez and Maratita delivered run-scoring singles at the top of the fifth to further secure their win. Fielders’ pitcher Nathan Guerrero struck out six, walked one, and allowed two runs on four hits.
Ol’ Aces 8, Little Legals 3
In the majors division, the Happy Market Ol’ Aces defeated the Robert Torres Kagman Little Legals, 8-3 at the Miguel ‘Tan Ge’ Basa Ball Field last Sunday.
Short stop Allen Cepeda hit an RBI double for the Aces, driving Virgil S. in. Kimo A. followed with a run-scoring single two outs into the top of the first.
With the bases loaded, Timmy Pangelinan walked Virgil in to give the Aces a 3-1 lead. Both Cepeda and Jose Carron earned two more runs on errors.
Kobe Tomokane handed the Legals their first run at the bottom of the first, with another from Marc Miranda at the bottom of the second.
The Ol’ Aces kept steady in the offense, with Chung and Kimo landing late-game runs.
Pedro Maratita scored the Legals’ third and final run on a sacrifice grounder from Kevin Kabaril.
Cepeda went 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.
