The Manta Rays crumbled first, losing 25-22 in the first set. They took the next set 25-12 but succumbed to spikes from Glorily Williams and Rachel Abrams. MHS 1 downed the Mantas 15-10 by the third set.
The Dolphins – composed of Glorily Williams, Michelle Ngirbabul, Rita Del Avellano, Tracey Uchau, Toni Yamada, Rachel Abrams, Melody Johnson, Ann Pua, and Rikka Kaijo – gave no mercy in their second game, beating Kagman High in all sets.
The Ayuyus met countless spikes from Abrams and Johnson, returning several attacks. Kagman High’s Mercy Mesa and Elilai Pialing bagged a couple points in the opening five minutes.
MHS 1 swept Kagman’s defense to take the first set, 25-10. The Ayuyus fell behind seven points in set two but recovered from Johnson’s out-of-bound spikes. Their late game recovery wasn’t quick enough, as the Dolphins pulled away 25-22. MHS 1 finished them off 15-3 in the third set.
Saipan International School also crushed KHS 25-12, 25-1, and 20-18 in another match. The unbeaten Geckos now have seven wins.
Meanwhile, Grace Christian Academy marked their fourth win over MHS 2. The Eagles dominated 25-10, 25-9, and 15-10 in all sets.
