The funding source, she said, came from the local poker and pachinko license fee collections.
$9,450 was allotted for seven dialysis and terminally ill patients, each of whom will receive $450 for three months.
$5,400 will be given to six other dialysis and terminally ill patients who will get $300 each for three months.
The remainder of the funds are allocated for the compensation of affected employees under Public Law 7-31, $1,500; the Rota Municipal Scholarship Foundation, $1,500; freight charges for the shipping of tax documents to Saipan, $500; advertisement with Rota Channel 5, $500; and $8,150 for the operations of the Rota Municipal Council.
Santos said the Rota mayor has expenditure authority over the allowances of the dialysis patients and payment of freight charges and TV advertisement.
She said the governor still has to sign the local bill before it becomes law.
The bill was passed by the Rota delegation on March 16 and was transmitted to the governor’s office on the next day.
