FREDDY Salavaria emerged as the Amigos Golf Club’s September Ace of the Month on Sunday, securing the title with a two-day net total of 142.

In the qualifying round held Sept. 14, Salavaria shot a gross 79, which, with a nine-handicap, was reduced to a net score of 70.

He then carried that form into the ace round, nearly matching his first-day performance with a gross 81, adjusted to a net 73. That gave him a two-day net score of 142 — just one stroke clear of the field — to claim the September Ace of the Month crown.

Joe Sablan Jr. finished runner-up at 143. He looked strong early, shooting a gross 77 (net 67 with a 10-handicap) in the first round, but struggled in the ace round with a gross 86 for a net 73.

Salavaria also shined in the Par 3 challenges, winning hole No. 7. The other winners were Rickly Sablan (No. 3), Syl Ada (No. 13), and Joe Torres (No. 17).

The Amigos now set their sights on October’s tournaments, with the qualifier round scheduled for Oct. 12 and the ace round set for Oct. 19.
