KEBRUKA secured another victory in the 2025 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association Open League on Sunday, outlasting Saipal 4-3 at the Dandan ball field.
Saipal started strong, taking control in the opening inning. After Kebruka went scoreless in the top half, Jeff I. delivered an RBI single that brought Joseph L. home, giving Saipal an early 1-0 lead. The momentum continued in the second inning as TJ S. scored on a fielder’s choice and Alonso B. added an RBI, extending the lead to 2-0.
The third and fourth innings were quiet, with neither team able to score.
Kebruka’s persistence paid off in the fifth inning when Jboy Guerrero delivered an RBI single to bring Ban Ayuyu home, putting Kebruka on the scoreboard at 2-1. The rally intensified in the sixth inning, as Keoni Lizama’s RBI double and Larson Sibetang’s 2-RBI single helped Kebruka score four runs, taking a 4-2 lead.
Saipal managed a solo run in the bottom of the sixth, but Kebruka held firm in the seventh to secure the 4-3 victory.
Also winning in the Open League were the Blue Jays, who narrowly defeated Chochu Maigu 13-12, highlighting another close contest in the competitive season.
