IN a thrilling display of skill and precision, Jose Crisostomo emerged victorious as the Saipan Golf Association’s August Ace of the Month after shooting a net score of 69 in the tournament held Sunday, Aug. 17 at Laolao Bay Golf & Resort’s east course.
The competition was fierce, with golfers battling for the coveted title. Rene Batallones put up a strong fight, shooting 43 on both the front and back for a gross total of 86. With the help of his 18 handicap, Batallones finished in first place overall with a net score of 68.
However, it was Crisostomo who ultimately claimed the Ace of the Month honor. He displayed a steady swing, shooting 42 on both the front and back for a gross total of 84. With his 15 handicap, Crisostomo recorded an impressive net score of 69 to secure the second-place finish overall while also earning the monthly Ace distinction, as Batallones had already won the title in June.
Freddy Cataluna, another past champion, rounded out the top three with a net score of 70.
The SGA extended special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Cepeda for their gracious hospitality as tournament hosts. Their support and dedication helped make the event a resounding success.
In addition to the main awards, several golfers were recognized for their exceptional play.
