ATHLETICS A’S notched their eighth straight win on Tuesday night, silencing the D-9ers 15-0 in four innings in the 2025 Saipan Baseball League at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field.
But he D-9ers did not go down easily, fighting through each inning and keeping the Athletics on their toes.
The D-9ers opened the top of the first inning with a near breakthrough as their second at-bat, Trevon Camacho, connected for a single and later advanced to third to create a scoring opportunity. But the chance slipped away as the Athletics secured the third out before Camacho could reach home.
The Athletics carried that momentum into the bottom half, drawing first blood with a handful of runs. Kazu Dela Cruz sparked the rally with an RBI single that brought in Javen Camacho and Achilles Evangelista. Dela Cruz later crossed the plate himself thanks to Angelo Igitol’s RBI single, while two more runs scored on errors, giving the Athletics a 5-0 lead.
The D-9ers barely had the chance to respond in the second inning, going three up, three down. In the bottom half, the Athletics’ JP Sablan took the spotlight, driving in two runs with a single to stretch the lead to 7-0.
The D-9ers threatened again in the third, loading the bases with no outs. Their efforts came up short, however, as the Athletics cut down two runners attempting to score at home before inducing a flyout. In the bottom frame, Evangelista added an RBI single and two more runs scored on errors to push the lead to 10-0.
The D-9ers continued to battle in the fourth inning, managing one hit before being retired in order. The Athletics sealed the win in the bottom half, with Sablan blasting a bases-clearing double for three RBIs. Two more runs scored on a passed ball, extending the margin to 15-0.
With the mercy rule in effect, the game ended after four complete innings, securing the Athletics A’s their eighth consecutive victory of the season.
