Hannam, Saipan Mayor’s Office host 3-on-3 Youth Basketball Tournament

(SMO) — Hannam Supermarket of Koblerville, in collaboration with the Saipan Mayor’s Office Sports Program, hosted a 3-on-3 Youth Basketball Tournament at the Koblerville Basketball Court this past Saturday, Sept. 20.

Hannam Supermarket, the official adopter of the Koblerville Court under the Mayor’s Adopt-a-Place Program, partnered with Mayor RB Camacho and his office to bring together 16 teams of young basketball players.

The 16 teams consisted of athletes ages 14 to 18, representing diverse ethnic groups and coming from villages, precincts, and schools across Saipan.

The tournament was an all-day event, running from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Before tipoff, Mayor Camacho addressed the athletes, praising and thanking them for their support of youth sports and healthy, active lifestyles. He encouraged them to build friendships and bonds with teammates and opponents from different backgrounds.

Despite rainy and wet conditions, all teams came out and gave their best on the court. In the end, Team Hotshots claimed first place, Team Gremlins finished second, and Team Koolaid Jammers secured third.

Mayor Camacho has made it a top priority to create, promote, and advocate for youth development and welfare through initiatives such as the Mayor’s Youth Sports Program. He continues to encourage youth athletes from across Saipan to join upcoming tournaments under the program.
