Notice to retirees regarding delay in benefit payments

(DOF) — The Department of Finance would like to inform retirees and the general public of a delay in the disbursement of benefit payments to certain retirees due to timing and banking constraints.

On Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025, the Settlement Fund received the 25% portion of the benefit payment from the CNMI Treasury. However, due to the timing of the deposit and the intervening federal holiday in the mainland United States, Bank of Hawaii was unable to process 100% of the scheduled benefit payments by the intended date.

Retirees with Bank of Hawaii accounts have received their benefit payments as of 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Retirees with accounts at other financial institutions were expected to be credited later Wednesday evening or by no later than Thursday morning, Oct. 16, 2025

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your patience and understanding.  For further updates, retirees are encouraged to monitor official communications from the Settlement Fund and the Department of Finance.”
