OLD B Bank continues to climb to the top of the Marianas Soccer League 2 Spring 2025 season standings, outlasting Bangladesh Football Club 2–1 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Wednesday last week. This victory marked Old B Bank’s sixth win in the tournament.
The action kicked off quickly, with Old B Bank showing their hunger for control. Taking on the role of aggressor, they set the tempo within the first few minutes of the opening half, applying relentless forward pressure that soon overwhelmed Bangladesh. Just five minutes in, Lin Xiao Feng broke through to score the opening goal of the match.
Bangladesh made sure not to repeat the same mistake, adjusting with improved coverage and turning each defensive stop into a chance to generate scoring opportunities of their own.
Despite an endless back-and-forth action, neither team could break the silence.
However, in a battle of determination and grit, Old B Bank proved to be the superior team. A key moment came in the 64th minute when Rex De Jose scored to extend their lead to 2-0.
With little time remaining, Bangladesh continued to fight and were rewarded when Robait Ratol scored in the 71st minute. However, despite their efforts, they ultimately fell to Old B Bank, 2-1.
Women’s league
On the same day, an A Division match in the Dove Women’s League Spring 2025 was played in which MP United Football Club reigned supreme against the Latte Football Club, 4-1.
Persistency was key, and although it took MPU some time to find their rhythm, they eventually struck with a flurry of goals. They drew first blood in the 18th minute, followed by a second goal from Summer Manahane in the 30th, and a third just two minutes later.
Latte FC’s Talina Aguon-McClure tried to stem the tide with a goal in the 46th minute, but Manahane responded with another goal three minutes later to seal the deal, 4-1.
