THE Saipan Chamber of Commerce elected new board members during its general membership meeting on Wednesday at the Hibiscus Hall of Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan.
The new board members are Amier C. Younis, president of Marianas Variety, and Dr. Nelson Krum of Paradise Dental Spa. They were elected alongside Chamber Vice President Dr. Joshua Wise of PHI Pharmacy and Director Brad Ruszala of NMI News Service. Wise and Ruszala were re-elected for another term to fill two of the four board seats up for election this month.
Younis and Krum, who will replace Velma Palacios of IT&E Saipan and Alex Sablan of Tan Holdings Corporation, will join Wise, Ruszala, and the five incumbent officers: President Joseph Guerrero of Transcends LLC, Treasurer Janice Tenorio of IT&E Saipan, Secretary Ron Smith of Angil Design Inc., Director John Arroyo of Bank of Saipan, and Director Nicole Babauta of Docomo Pacific.
In an interview, Guerrero said the terms of Palacios and Sablan have expired. He added that, at the board’s next meeting in December, the members will elect a new set of officers.
