GOOD-HEARTED people initiated acts of kindness by providing emergency food assistance to participants in the Nutrition Assistance Program who did not receive their electronic benefit transfer to pay for food last week due to the ongoing federal government shutdown.
Among those distributing food to NAP recipients were the owners of Barney’s Pizza, Triple J Enterprises, and JCD Catering & Event Solutions.
Barney’s Pizza has been delivering bags of canned goods to the NAP office for beneficiaries of the EBT program. Many recipients shared the canned goods they received with other NAP recipients, especially children. According to one recipient, aside from Barney’s Pizza, Triple J also delivered food bags to the NAP office.
On Friday, Jessica Aldan Castro Domingo, owner of JCD Catering, held a food drive at the Garapan Fishing Base, distributing food bags to NAP recipients, particularly children. “I decided to do it just to help the community because I felt sorry for the children,” she said.
On Saturday, Jonah Jones, manager of Triple J Tinian Farms, told Variety that the farm distributed large quantities of eggplant in a Tinian food drive to support the Office of Aging and local families, kicking off the holiday season of giving.
