Saipan International School to host Inaugural Christmas market

Celebrating creativity, community, and holiday spirit

(SIS) – With Christmas in the Marianas not taking place this year, Saipan International School has organized its inaugural Christmas Market as a substitute fundraiser for the school’s art department.

The long-running Christmas in the Marianas community event has traditionally provided essential support for SIS’s arts programs while offering students a space to share their musical and artistic talents. To keep that spirit alive, the school is bringing the festivities home to campus.

The inaugural SIS Christmas market will take place on December 18 from 5–8 p.m. at Saipan International School campus in As Lito.

The event aims to bring together the creativity, culture, and community that island families look forward to each December. A wide range of local artists will be selling their handmade goods, and the school is especially proud to feature many student vendors whose work won’t be available at any other market this season. Shoppers will find unique, student-made items such as greeting cards, shell jewelry, and island-inspired ornaments—perfect for holiday gifting and supporting young artists.

Organizers encourage visitors to bring cash, as many vendors—especially student sellers—will not have credit card payment options available.

Alongside the market stalls, the campus will be filled with music and dance throughout the day. Performances will include the SIS Ukulele Club, elementary singers and dancers, Te Kanahau Nui Dance School, and the talented MHS Glee Club, creating a festive atmosphere for families of all ages.

Food lovers will also have plenty to enjoy, with vendors like Benki, The Waffle Stop, and several others serving crowd favorites and holiday treats.

For guests needing additional parking, the SNAP office just around the corner will be available and easily accessible.
SIS encourages the community to come out, celebrate the season, and show support not only for the school’s incredible students, but also for the local artists and small businesses who help make Saipan’s holiday traditions special.
