KANOA Football Club 1 continues to move closer to a title shot in the U14 boys division of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League Spring 2025 after slipping past Matansa Football Club, 2-1, at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Saturday. It was Kanoa 1’s third win.
In the first five minutes of the first half, both teams had their share of attempts, but neither managed to score.
As the match progressed, Kanoa 1 gradually took charge and wore down Matansa’s defensive line with Damien Concepcion finding the back of the net in the 10th minute.
Despite drawing first blood, Kanoa failed to keep up on the defensive end, leaving cracks along their defensive wall, which allowed Matansa’s Eleazir Mettao to equalize the score, 1-1.
Both teams continued to fight for the lead but were unable to deliver.
In the 40th minute, Kanoa 1 shifted the momentum by using long overhead passes and outmuscling defenders.
After a few passes to advance the ball, they were rewarded with their second goal, scored by Michael Borja, to regain the upper hand at 2-1.
Although there was still time, Matansa failed to equalize and instead settled for defeat at the hands of Kanoa 1.
Winners, too
Joining the winner’s circle were the Latte Football Club, which silenced the MP United Football Club, 3-0, and Shirley’s Football Club, which shut down Kanoa Football Club 2, 3-0.
