(SMO) — Saipan Mayor Ramon “RB” Camacho recently had a courtesy visit from the newly appointed Most Reverend Romeo Duetao Convocar Bishop of the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa, at the Saipan Mayor’s Office. During the meeting, Mayor Camacho took the opportunity to personally welcome the bishop and express his excitement for the bishop’s leadership in the community.
Mayor RB and Bishop Convocar discussed the many initiatives being carried out by both the mayor’s office and the diocese to benefit the community. These efforts include a variety of projects aimed at providing assistance and promoting goodwill throughout Saipan. Recognizing the shared goals of community service, both leaders agreed on the importance of collaboration between municipal leadership and the diocese.
Mayor RB, recognizing Bishop Convocar as a prominent leader in the community, emphasizes the essential role of faith-based leadership in fostering social harmony, preventing crime, and inspiring a sense of responsibility and service among residents. “As a prominent leader in our islands, I look forward to working closely with Bishop Convocar to strengthen our shared values of service and faith. Together, we can promote a safer, more compassionate community by encouraging good stewardship, promoting social harmony, and addressing the needs of our diverse population,” said Mayor RB.
By collaborating with Bishop Convocar, Mayor RB remains committed to building a Safe Community, a Safe Village, and a Clean Island. Both the mayor and bishop are eager to embark on this partnership, confident that their combined efforts will have a lasting, positive impact on the people of Saipan.
